IT'S OFFICIAL!

Terry Brown to run
for 84th District State Rep. seat

Bad Axe, MI -- The 2012 election season is underway, with Terry Brown's announcement he'll run for his old seat in the Michigan State House.
The news spread quickly, and within days Brown held his first fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 4 at Samuel Mancino's restaurant in Bad Axe. Approximately 200 people attended and the
enthusiasm was genuine.
Much of the buzz in the room, of course, included tales of the embattled current State Rep., Kurt Damrow, who has provided much fodder for both local and Lansing news agencies.
With Damrow kicked out of his county's Republican Party, many attending the Brown event talked of the likelihood that Damrow would run for re-election as an Independent. His Tea Party alliances are strong, especially in Tuscola County, but the Tea Party isn't currently registered as an actual political party to appear on a Michigan ballot.
Who will represent the Republican Party in the August 2012 primary? That's the subject of much debate. With Brown's
announcement as a Democratic candidate, no others yet have made their candidacy public.
