All for what? (continued)

Can so many highly paid civil servants of the Executive Branch be duped by erroneous CIA reports? I find that difficult to believe as do millions of Americans at this point.
There was clearly a plot instigated by those who hold powerful offices to overthrow the Iraqi president for obtuse reasons. I think those reasons are all too clear as of this late date.
If one has the courage, and intelligence, to clinb out of the American ideology box to feret out the truth of this travesty they would have only to go so far as their PC (or laptop).
The UN did not sanction this war for a reason … and yet we allowed our great nation to wage war against one with not one-tenth of our manpower or technology. If Osama had his hand in the 9/11 attacks, then where is he? We have the most highly trained and funded special forces in the world and yet we cannot find one man? Incredulous! Perhaps there is no urgent reason to find him.
We allow our press to label Irazqi citizens as "insurgents." I'm quite sure that if the U.S. was invaded by a super power many an "insurgent" would be born … right in our own homes no less.
We allowed George Bush to quip jokes about looking for WMDs under furniture in the White House while our sons and daughters lost their lives fighting a losing battle.
I keep hearing the word "win" in relation to war and I cannot believe that in this 21st century we still believe they are words to be used in tandem. There are no "winners" in war.
It is time to rise above archaic belief systems that perpetuate fear and the need for vengeance. Our need for vengeance led us blindly into the hands of those who would use that hatared as a fuel for war.
Nearly four years later … over $350,000,000,000 tax dollars spent to secure oil fields --- over 2,900
U.S. soldiers dead … over 100,000 Iraqi citizens killed and countless wounded … A Nation disgraced by its leadership and reviled around the globe … and for what I ask?
I think the Proverb, "Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spririt before stumbling" fits our current trajectory as does the image of "Nero fiddling while Rome burned."
It is time to impeach those who misuse and abuse the power we so graciously afforded them.
